Like a lot of gym goers, I started working out with the traditional “Frankenstein” method of 1 or 2 body parts at a time. My only concern: look good. And that’s all I told my clients to do as well. After a few years of that, I began to notice other people in the gym putting themselves through workouts that, from afar, made no sense. Back AND legs AND chest in the same day?!! Crazy fools! However, it turns out that these athletes were not only looking better, they could do some amazing feats of strength and power as well. So I began asking questions, looking up lifts and workouts. I started applying these new ideas into my workouts and the programs of my clients. I knew I was hooked on some really fun and potent stuff. It wasn’t until last year when I started looking at the real box gyms in my area. I met with a number of coaches and in the end, the choice was CrossFit SAC. Since I’ve been here I’ve become stronger, faster, more healthy and more confident than I ever have been. Best part is, I get to coach others and see that same thrill and progress in them. Helping people get new PR’s on a lift, beat an old time or simply show someone how to get in and out of a chair without hurting. There’s nothing like it. And there’s nothing like CrossFit.

I was introduced to CrossFit in 2008 and it was unlike anything I had ever done. I was never athletic growing up and wanted to be in better shape as an adult but never found anything that kept me interested long enough to see results. For the first time in my life I felt like I was getting stronger, faster and more fit while actually enjoying working out. I became a Level 1 CrossFit trainer in 2010, attended the Coach’s Prep Course (Level 2) in 2013 and most recently became a Certified CrossFit Level 3 trainer in 2015.

I found CrossFit on June 1st, 2010 and little did I know it would be the day that changed my life. I loved that CrossFit challenged me to get out of my comfort zone and do things that I never thought possible like Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics, and jumping rope so quickly that it spins twice under my feet every time I jump. It’s amazing the thrill you can get out of putting heavy weight overhead or getting into a handstand for the first time. Because of CrossFit, I also started to modify my diet to remove processed foods, I slept more and I stretched. CrossFit SAC became the place I hung out at on the weekends and my workout buddies quickly became my social        circle and support network. Finding CrossFit SAC changed my life by making me a happier, healthier, fitter person!
