So, that first Open workout is done and out of the way. As we’ve seen traditionally, it was a very accessible workout using some classic CrossFit movements. The wall ball is an old friend/enemy. In conjunction with his best buddy, rowing for calories, it’s quite a potent mix. Needless to say, this particular workout was geared towards those who pushed a lot harder in their engine and psychological strength this last year. And if we’re being really, really real, it definitely favored those of us who are a bit taller and a bit heavier ( don’t worry it’s really the only two things we get LOL).
Personally, I don’t think it was all that crazy. I tend to enjoy straight forward burners. I prefer movements I can get ahead on when in a competitive mindset but overall I’m happy with my results. Looking ahead, I know we have so many hard-working people in our gym, that it’ll be hard to keep up with them all.
It’s hard to guess what’s going to come up next. But honestly, it doesn’t matter. It was so great to see everyone do as well as they did this last week I can’t wait to feel the energy for 19.2! And of course a quick thank you to everyone who stuck around after their workouts or even came in when they weren’t working out to help judge and motivate those going through the Open WOD. You guys are literally the reason I do this stuff.
See you in class!
