Why Runners Need Deadlifts
Today’s workout is what we would term a “heavy day.” The goal is to, well, lift as heavy as possible with the hope of developing strength, discovering strength limits and just having fun! However, some people purposefully avoid these days because they want to “sweat,” “breath hard” and “get more cardio.” If you are doing a heavy day right, all of those things will happen. In addition, if you want to improve your “cardio” i.e. your running, rowing, biking, etc. studies have shown incorporating weightlifting actually improve performance. You can read more about in here.
