On an 8-minute running clock, perform 1 minute each of:
20-inch box jumps
Wall-ball shots, 20-lb. ball
That’s freaking frustrating!!!!!
A sentence you have no doubt said to yourself many times during your Crossfit career. If you haven’t yet, I can assure you that you will. Why does it the feel like sometimes when you come into a workout with skills and drills that you love and are proficient at, that everything falls apart? Oh, no reason just cause you’re human.
Here’s the deal: You are not perfect. I know what you’re thinking. “But my mom says I am…”. Well, she might be biased. Not to worry though because none of us are perfect. That’s why we keep going through all this workout stuff. To continually get better. There will always be room for improvement. Even the best of the best know this. So if the work out that you did didn’t go your way or normally you can link 200 double unders together but today you couldn’t get 5, that doesn’t mean it’s gone forever or that you are a failure. You are not defined by a single WOD or even a weeks worth of them. It really comes down to having a rough day. But the fact that you put the work in and that you showed up and did your best effort is what makes the difference.
Sometimes you simply cant devote the time to drill a particular skill to refine it. Sometimes you didn’t sleep. Maybe you just got off 3 days worth of night shifts at the hospital. Maybe you were sick. Sometimes life is hard. That takes energy and it might take more depending on the situation. You can only do the best you can with what time and resources you’ve got. Just make sure to be proud by recognizing the accomplishments you’ve achieved.
Keep it up guys.
